Through The Eye of The Needle - E-Book

There's a verse in the Gospels that most of us have heard hundreds of times, and it always sounded like it was mostly about wealth. The one about the camel and the eye of the needle. The one where the disciples panic and ask "then who can be saved?" and Jesus answers, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
 

I watched my daughter thread a needle at our kitchen table the other day. Small hands, enormous needle in her fingers, the whole face concentrated on that tiny opening. Sometimes the thread slid through on the first try. Most times it didn't. She kept at it. And when it finally passed through, she looked up with the specific expression of someone who had just done something that seemed impossible a moment before.
 

Something in me shifted watching her, and I realized I had never actually understood what Christ was pointing at when He spoke those words.
 

This short book is what emerged from that moment. It's about how three seemingly unrelated things — the verse about the camel and the needle, a Russian nesting doll, and a piece of mathematics called phi ratio — are all describing the same reality from different angles.
